- Avoid facial peels and chemical treatments in the month prior to your session.
- Avoid excessive sun exposure (and wear SPF) in the three weeks leading up to your appointment.
- Please come to your appointment with bare skin, which means no makeup or skincare products.
- You won’t need much recovery time after your laser treatment! Most patients are able to go back to work or attend social gatherings immediately following their appointment.
- You may see some minor swelling or redness for a few days after the procedure. This is totally normal and should resolve on its own! If you experience excessive swelling or redness, or it doesn’t go away after a few days, please contact us for further guidance.
LASER RESURFACING FAQS
It depends on the treatment and areas being treated, but you can typically expect to be in and out in less than an hour. Some sessions are as short as 10 minutes!

Usually, yes! Because laser treatments are minimally invasive, you will have very little downtime (or none!) after your appointment. Your SkinLocal expert will give you all the info you need before you get started. (Note: Candela CO2RE does require some healing downtime, about 7-14 days.)
